President of Confucius Institute at Sapporo Gakuin University Gave a Lecture on “Japanese Literature and Culture”
On April 26th, Zhang Weixiong, president of Confucius Institute at Sapporo Gakuin University, Japan, paid a visit to our college, and gave a lecture, on the theme of “Japanese Literature and Culture”, to Japanese majors and teaching staff of Japanese at Teaching Building F101.
Our Library Organized “Fun of Language Learning Week”
From April 23rd to 26th, our library organized the fifth activity of Reading Festival, themed “Fun of Language Learning Week”. Stepping in alternately six languages—Japanese, French, Korean, German, Arabic and English, this activity absorbed respective language enthusiasts to participate. What’s more, accompanied by respective Chinese professional teachers, the foreign teachers and students of Korean and Arabic were invited to appreciate Chinese students’ enthusiasm on foreign language and culture learning.
Liu Zhigang, the former Deputy Consul-General of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Busan, talked on “Sino-Korean Relations”
On April 26th, the 25th lecture of Learned Platform proceeded in Teaching Building G202. Liu Zhigang, the former Deputy Consul-General of Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Busan, talked with the students on Sino-Korean relations and his experience of Korean learning.
Teacher-student Representatives of Our College Were Invited to the Release Conference of American Chamber of Commerce in South China
On April 26th, teacher-student representatives of our college were invited to participate in the APP release conference of MNC held by AMCHAM at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. Being present Harley Seyedin, president of AMCHAM, and Luo Qiang, Deputy Consul of Consulate General of the United States in Guangzhou, school leaders and 20 students of our college participated in this conference, which covered mock interview, on-the-spot comment and on-the-spot question-and-answer.
Representatives of Soonchunhyang University of Korea Visited Our College
On April 26th, a party headed by Song Xianzhu, director of Korean Education Center of Soonchunhyang University, visited our college, with the reception of Lai Zhili, vice president of our college, in Room 309 of Administrative Building. The two parties communicated on general information of respective college, cooperation programs and establishment of friendly cooperation. Afterwards, they had a look at the Foreign Students’ Apartment of our college.
Drama Competition of College English Demonstrated Splendidness with Endless Innovation
On April 26th, “2012 Drama Competition of College English” was held in Teaching Building C301 on the theme of “Youth with me, innovation without end”. Tourism Administration Class one of Grade 2010 (English Immersion Class of International Tourism) won the Golden Award.
“Representatives of 15 Countries” Gathered at SCBC to Discuss “African Child Mercenary”
On April 26th, the Department of European Language and Culture organized the 2nd Model UN Conference with the real UN Conference process. In bilingual use of Chinese and English, representatives in suit gave speech, debated and communicated on “African Child Mercenary”, and tried to work out the resolution.
English Corner of DELC: Pondering Over Titanic 15 Years Later
On April 25th, English Corner of DELC (Department of English Language and Culture) was held at the small park between Teaching Building F and G. The foreign teachers present shared with the students their understanding, feeling and even the aspects of treating love, survival and humanity after watching Titanic 15 years later. During free discussion, the teachers and students discussed on the hot topic of “How to make your choice between love and money?”.
English Time Space Turned into Salad Workshop
On April 24th, the second session of English Time Space was organized by College English Department. Co-lectured by Amies, foreign teacher Willam gave a lecture on “Have Fun with Salad”. With the students taking part in and experiencing the fun of making salad, foreign teacher Amies introduced in detail the materials, process and method of making salad.
Representatives of American Duquesne University Visited Our College
On April 20th, a party of five members headed by Dr. Alan R. Miciak, dean of the School of Business Administration at Duquesne, visited our college. During the visit, they held a seminar of studying abroad at our college.
Lai Zhili Participated in “the 11th Spring of Diplomats”
On the theme of “Peace, Development, Cooperation”, the 11th Spring of Diplomats was held at Beijing Hotel on April 19th. Lai Zhili, vice president of our college, participated on the invitation of AFDC (Association of Former Diplomats of China) and met with the diplomats once giving lectures at our college.
