SCBC Leaders Look in on Students in Korea and Japan
While Visiting Cooperative Colleges
An SCBC delegation, headed by Ding Xiaojun, the Chairman of Board Trustees and Lai Zhili, the executive vice president,has recently visited four major cooperative colleges in Korea and Japan and looked in on SCBC students and alumni there.
SCBC leaders focused on getting acquainted with the life and study of the SCBC students there through discussion forums and dinner party. Vice President Lai hoped students to seize the good opportunity of study abroad by focusing on their learning so as to gain their professional capacity in the exotic land.
It is reported that SCBC alumni who are currently working or studying in Japan and Korea have set up alumni associations there, SCBC leaders held meetings with some of them and, at the meeting, these SCBC alumni expressed good wishes to do their best to make further contacts with more SCBC alumni in order to establish the Association General of SCBC Alumni Overseas.
The delegation headed by Ding Xiaojun also visited Sangmyung University and Pai Chai University, Yokohama University of Commerce in Japan and Hollywood University. Leaders from these four co-operational colleges praised SCBC students there for their quick adapting to life in the new environment, hard work in learning and considerable progress in language and academics.
SCBC Visiting Teachers to Turkey Catches Local Media Attention
Two SCBC teachers visited Turkey to participate in the Mevlana Cultural Exchange Program at Celal Bayar University (CBU) for two weeks in November.
Qing Lihua, Director of the Department of Translation Studies of the School of English Language and Culture, and Wu Yumei, Assistant of Director of the Department of College English Education were kindly received by Prof. Kemal Celebi, the president of CBU; Prof. Birol Kovancilar, vice president, and Prof. Bugra Ozer, director of CBU Office of International Exchanges. The two sides introduced and exchanged ideas to each other from such perspectives as curriculum setting, pedagogical models, instruction and English education, which enhanced the mutual understanding.
During their stay at CBU, Wu Yumei and Qing Lihua gave two talks to students of the Department of English Language and Culture and other two occupational colleges. Their exchange activities at CBU was reported by the Manisa local newspaper Yeni Manisa
