Xinjie Wang Visits Australian Universities

 

  During the last winter vacation, Vice President Xinjie Wang visited Australia on invitation. She visited Murdoch University, University of Western Sydney and University of Technology Sydney.

 

 

  SCBC has been actively and extensively seeking more resources of quality higher education institutions to provide current students with exchange programs of higher caliber. Xinjie Wang and the SCBC delegates first visited Murdoch University, negotiated with the university leaders about the collaboration of the "3 + 1" project of computer application specialty, specifically involving the discussion of curriculum settings, language proficiency requirements, costs and other issues.

 

 

 

 

  During the trip, Xinjie Wang and the delegates then visited University of Western Sydney for the negotiation of the "2 + 2" project of Chinese-English Translation concentration. The two sides have reached a consensus on the contents of the project and have signed an intention of cooperation.

 

 

 

 

  In addition, Xinjie Wang and the delegates went to University of Technology Sydney, and visited the SCBC students who are currently studying there. Data shows, 17 SCBC students are enrolled in the "2+2" program at the University of Technology Sydney.

 


Portuguese Language and Four Other Majors
Newly Added to SCBC Undergraduate Degree Programs

 

  The Ministry of Education has recently announced the result of documentation or approval of undergraduate majors of higher education for 2015.  The five undergraduate majors that SCBC declared have all been approved, which include Portuguese Language, Applied Linguistics, Taxation Management, Software Engineering, and Human Resources Management.

 

  At present, SCBC offers 31 undergraduate majors which are included in four divisions: Economics, Management Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Engineering.  Within the foreign language discipline, the number of majors has reached 11; they are, respectively, English, Business English, Translation, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, French, German, and Portuguese.
