XiongKuanghan and his Entourage was Invited to Attend the Event for the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of Yokohama University of Commerce, Japan
Between Oct. 16th and 17th, Vice President Xiong Kuanghan and Qin Mingwu, Dean of School of Oriental Languages of SCBC were invited to attend the event for the 50th anniversary of the founding of Yokohama University of Commerce, Japan.
Mr. Kobayashi Masahito and his crew welcomed the visitors from China; and President Xiong Kuanghan, on behalf of SCBC, offered their congratulations to their hosts by presenting a Chinese ink painting showing success and good luck.
Xiong Kuanghan and the crew went to the event for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Yokohama University of Commerce, Japan. They went to meet more than 10 students from SCBC and had a talk with some of the students. The vice president and his crew asked the students about their life and study in Japan and tried to seek advice and comments on sending students overseas for studies. The students were very grateful to administrators of SCBC for their help and support.
Yokohama University of Commerce was reported to have formally established co-operation with SCBC in 2013, and it is said to have maintained friendly and extensive exchange with SCBC in such aspects as teaching and research. Since March of 2014, the university has accepted, on an annual basis, about 30 students from SCBC for the programs of “3+1” or “2+2”, while SCBC has sent 2 teachers of Japanese major to Yokohama University of Commerce for teaching and further studies annually.
During their stay in Japan, Vice President Xiong Kuanghan and the crew also visited Japan’s Hollywood University and Aichi Toho University.
Visits by Reps from Western Sydney University Australia
On the afternoon of Oct. 26th, a visit to SCBC was made by Dr. Kenny Wang, Assistant Dean of International Affairs, and Dr. Stella Wu, Assistant Dean of International Affairs of Business College of Western Sydney University, Australia. Vice President Wang Xinjie received the visitors at Room 309 of the Administrative Building.
Vice President Wang Xinjie states in her talk that the staff and students at SCBC are constantly growing in numbers and in quality and mutually accredited programs (with 3 years of study at SCBC and one year study overseas) known as “3+1” are well received by students and such a program “3+1” or “3+1.5” (under + graduate studies) is going on to be further enacted. Mr. Yang Jianjun, Director of International Co-operation and Exchange Center, is quoted as saying that SCBC believes in international exchange and co-operation and close ties with universities and colleges overseas. Bilingual teaching programs are set up in 4 non-foreign-languages majors and mutually accredited programs “2+2” between SCBC and universities overseas are set up for 3 disciplines such as Accounting, International Business and Finance.
Afterwards, co-operation details were discussed by both parties. Vice President Wang Xinjie, on behalf of SCBC handed presents to and had pictures taken with representatives from Western Sydney University.
Shortly after, a symposium was given by reps from Western Sydney University at G103 of the Teaching Building of SCBC.
