Reps from SCBC Visiting Aichi Toho University, Japan
Between Dec. 8th and 10th, Prof. Qin Mingwu, Dean of School of Oriental Languages and Culture, and Director Yang Jianjun of the Center for International Co-operation and Exchange of SCBC and the entourage were invited to visit Aichi Toho University, Japan.
During their first-day visit, while meeting with Vice President Wakabayachi and other administrators, Qin Mingwu and Yang Jianjun made an initial agreement on the exchange framework between SCBC and Aichi Toho University. They were then walked through facilities at the university such as classroom buildings, computer labs, internship labs and the library.
The very next day, President Kiko Naoki and board chairman of Aichi Toho University, met with delegates headed by Qin Mingwu and Yang Jianjun. Speeches were made by both sides to show a strong inclination for mutual exchange and gifts were swapped. At the meeting, both sides discussed future co-operation in detail such as exchange of students, staff and administrative personnel between the two schools. Middle ground was able to be established after further discussions had been made on specific issues like students exchange as well as credit-swapping, tuition reducing and waiving, living expense covering and boarding. Representatives from both schools expressed their expectation and confidence in their future co-operation.
