Delegation Headed by Board Chairman Ding Xiaojun Visiting Aichi Toho University, Japan
At the recent invitation of Aichi Toho University, Japan, to visit Japan,the delegation headed by Board Chairman Ding Xiaojun and Prof Qin Mingwu, Dean of the School of Oriental Languages and Cultures of SCBC, were warmly received by Board Chairman & President Kiko Naoki and Vice President Norinu of Aichi Toho University.An extensive discussion was made and a consensus was reached by both parties on the exchange of multiple programs between the two universities.
Decisions were made by both parties after a friendly and pragmatic consultation:Aichi Toho University will enroll from April of 2018 three students from SCBC into its double-degree programs and two more students into its one-year education program. Since both parties regard each Other’s school as the education base overseas, an opening ceremony is expected to be held as soon as possible. Also, short-term academic exchange and research are supposed to be held for faculty and staff between the two universities. In addition, an in-depth discussion was made by both parties on how to run top private universities.
Delegates Visiting SCBC from Okayama Shoka University, Japan
A visit was made to SCBC on 17 April by delegates from Okayama Shoka University, Japan, who were warmly received by Executive Vice President Lai Zhili, who briefed the visitors on the signature strengths of SCBC in foreign languages. He told them that some achievement has been made in the Japanese language education where some experience has been accumulated by SCBC in running the Japanese language major. According to him, the prominent strengths of SCBC in the business disciplines such as Finance, International Economics and Trade, Accounting and Marketing are able to help beaf up muscles of Okayama Shoka University in these relevant majors.
A brief account of Okayama Shoka University Japan was made by Kato Shinya , a delegate from the university. According to him, it is a private university which was set up in 1965. By pushing the educational concept of "prioritizing needs-oriented education", the school, by closely monitoring social needs, has established an educational system propped up by the three pillars of Business, Law and Economics. He said that the university is looking forward to some virtual exchange and co-operation with SCBC. Both parties then started to get into details of how they will co-operate down the road.
SCBC Joining Enterprises in Innovative Efforts to Build Incubator Bases in Attempt to Help College Students Jumpstart their Business in One-for-One Mode
A start-up event took place at F101 on the morning of 21 April for "the One-for-One " Incubator program to help college students jumpstart the T-3 Organics Tea Business. SCBC has been working with De Gao Xin Tea Industry Holdings to build "a T-3 Incubator base for college students to jumpstart innovative businesses", the first of its kind in SCBC's history,when the school has joined an enterprise in such endeavors. Such a base will be moulded into a comprehensive hands-on platform for college students to jumpstart their innovative businesses, where the incubator for business start-ups,business startup mentoring, marketing of products and business management are integrated. Specifically speaking, the engaging enterprise is supposed to pave the road for the innovative efforts of the students by offering them "One-for-One " mentorship in addition to providing them with products for theirstartups,experience and resources. Meanwhile, the school is supposed to enable the students to acquire experience necessary for the business start-ups and to improve their creativity on the campus by hosting various types of business startup contests, offering crash courses for business start-ups and sponsoring business startup internships for the students.
Present at the event were Director-general Luo Yifan and Deputy Director-general Ye Huiyou from Hands-on Education Administration Commission,EducationalAdministration Society for Tertiary Education, Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Board Chairman Chen Weijing of De Gao Xin Enterprise Corp, Guangdong, and 9 reps of entrepreneurs, Party Secretary Li Dong, Vice President Wang Xinjie and reps of faculty and staff of SCBC.
