First European Drama Contest Held at School of Occidental Languages & Cultures
Nine performing crews staged spectacular shows in respective occidental languages such as German, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese and English in the first European drama contest held at the School of Occidental Languages & Cultures. It is the first of its kind for such drama contests ever to be held in Languages other than English at SCBC.
The shows that had been entered into the drama contest varied in styles like funny skits and fairy tales in either authentic originals or adapted combinations of Chinese and western masterpieces. The contestants did a fantastic job, dancing over singing, of presenting the great true-to-life roles in their performances such as Rebecca staged by the drama crew in German whose superb acting skills and enthusiastic singing culminated in the most exciting apex with overwhelming cheers from the audience.
Rebecca staged by the drama crew in German with the highest score consequently won the championship with the silver going to A Fool’s Day by the Portuguese crew and the bonze going to Cinderella, a play staged by the drama crew in the Russian language.
