Dr. Ma Zaoming Invited to Attend A Symposium in Turkey
Dr. Ma Zaoming, part-time professor of SCBC, was invited to attend the 2nd Symposium on International Strategies organized by Celal Bayar University in Antalya, Turkey from September 28 to October 1. Dr. Ma delivered a keynote speech to the participating professors and experts from more than 20 academic institutions in Turkey, China, Romania, Bulgaria and Malaysia.
In the discussion session, Dr. Ma explained China's recent plans to facilitate academic cooperation and exchange with countries along the Belt and Road and shared with the audience his latest publication “The Strategic Cooperation in Higher Education between China and ASEAN Countries under the Belt and Road Initiative”. He believes that while the close links between China and ASEAN countries in terms of history, geography and culture have laid solid foundations for cooperation in higher education, the ever-changing international environment has also brought about a series of challenges in the backdrop of the Belt and Road Initiative. As China announced plans for the education sector to serve the Belt and Road Initiative, he expected that SCBC would join this historic endeavor and seize this opportunity to increase cooperation and exchange with overseas institutions in Turkey and other countries.
In the conversations and talks after the Symposium, Dr. Ma answered many questions in good details about SCBC from the participating members who were looking for areas where cooperation and exchange were possible. His efforts had been fruitful and brought SCBC four preliminary agreements on future cooperation with foreign colleges and universities.
