Dr. Elsayed Moustafa Ebeed of Suez Canal University Visits SCBC
On April 19, Dr. Elsayed Moustafa Ebeed, assistant professor of Linguistics and manager of Arabic Language and Translation Center of Suez Canal University in Egypt, paid a visit to SCBC and was welcome by Executive Vice President Lai Zhili.
After introducing South China Business College to the guest, Mr. Lai said that as language is an important medium of communication, a tool that would enable students to better serve society, SCBC has a focus on training students’ foreign language skills. Its general goal is to cultivate practice-oriented, innovative professionals with integrity who are proficient in one or two foreign languages and competent for international cooperation and competition. He believed that a close partnership with Suez Canal University will help create a better learning environment for students of Arabic language at SCBC.
Dr. Elsayed Moustafa Ebeed agreed and expressed the willingness to cooperate with SCBC in Arabic language training that benefits both sides. He said that as language bridges cultures and facilitates cultural exchanges, culture is inevitably an integral part of the curriculum, adding that the partnership is more of a cultural exchange between the two ancient civilizations of China and Egypt than mere cooperation between the two institutions. Apart from student exchanges, he expected enhanced academic communication with SCBC through exchanging teachers and researchers to open up long-term or short-term, multi-layered and comprehensive exchanges.
Later, the two sides held discussions on issues regarding SCBC students to study at Suez Canal University and the details of furthering cooperation.
