Vice President from Bellevue University Visits SCBC

 

  On May 17, Vice President Wang Xinjie of SCBC met with a delegation headed by Russ Lane, vice president of Community and Student Affairs at Bellevue University.
 
 
  Ms. Wang Xinjie said that South China Business College has been in good partnership with Bellevue University since quite a few years ago and over two dozen students have been sent to study there. Bellevue University is a well-known institution of higher learning accredited by the Ministry of Education of China. It has been on the recommended list of American Universities as seen on the websites of the Oversight for Overseas Educational Cooperation(http://www.jsj.edu.cn) and the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (http://www.cscse.edu.cn) under the Ministry of Education of China, as well as the American Embassy in China(https://china.usembassy-china.org.cn/). Ms. Wang hoped that the two sides could agree on more in-depth cooperation and exchanges, saying that Mr. Lane’s visit would move the partnership onto a new page of development.
 
  Mr. Russ Lane spoke highly of SCBC students at Bellevue University, who are energetic, passionate and actively participating in all areas of academic and campus life. Known for its outstanding business programs, Bellevue University boasts high-quality education resources and well-developed systems of online learning that benefit students globally. Mr. Lane said he looked forwards to further cooperation with SCBC.
 
 
  The purpose of the visit was to discuss new partnership models of “2+2”business programs and one-year exchange programs. Under such models, SCBC students at Bellevue University will be able to complete all the required 9 courses in the first three semesters and take internships in the last semester.
 

 

 
  The two sides also had a consultation on the details of enhanced partnership and SCBC student exchange programs.
 
 
SCBC Test Center for ТРКИ Inaugurated
 
  The SCBC Test Center for ТРКИ(Russian language test for speakers of other languages) was inaugurated on May 21 in the presence of Oleg Krinitskiy and Zhu Yun, who are examiners of ТРКИ, and SCBC’s Executive Vice President Lai Zhili and Vice President Wang Xinjie.
 
 
  Zhu Yun said this was his first visit to SCBC and he felt honored to be an examiner at the first ТРКИ text in the southern China. He hoped that the SCBC Test Center for ТРКИ will increase its regional influence and facilitate the cultivation of more Russian language speakers to better serve the society.
 
 
  According to Vice President Wang Xinjie, South China Business College’s application to be the 9th regional test center for ТРКИ was approved in March this year, making it the first and only ТРКИ test organizer in Southern China. This effort was on the one hand to showcase SCBC’s distinction of and strength in foreign language training and on the other to bring convenience to students of Russian language in the region. The School of European Languages and Culture will carry out the work of the test in strict accordance with the requirements from the Test Center, promote the test among Russian language learners, and help them get the most of it.
 
 
  ТРКИ is a national standardized Russian language test for speakers of other languages. The certificate is considered the most valuable and authoritative evidence of the bearer’s Russian language proficiency. Chinese students with ТРКИ certificates are eligible for studies in Russian universities without taking preparatory courses, or to apply for jobs in companies in the Russian Federation.
 
 
Chairman Ding Xiaojun Visits Four Institutions of Higher Learning in Japan
 
  From May 14 to 16, Mr. Ding Xiaojun, chairman of the Board of SCBC, accompanied by Ms. Xu Jinghua, vice-dean of the School of Asian Languages and Cultures, and Ms. Wu Li, visited four institutions of higher learning in Japan, including Okayama Shoka University, Aichi Toho University, Digital Hollywood University, and Yokohama College of Commerce.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  During his tight schedule, Mr. Ding called on the SCBC students and asked about their life and studies in Japan. He encouraged them to work hard for further education in prestigious universities. The students were appreciative of the visit and pledged that they would cherish the opportunity to study abroad and live up to what their Alma Mater expects of them.
