Foreign Teachers and International Students Invited to New Year Celebration Banquet
Translucent shrimp dumplings,juicy soup-filled buns, soft Portuguese-style egg tarts, and all. With so many kinds of delicious dishes and delicacies, everyone at the table was enjoying the moment with joyous laughter and cheering fun. With 2019 coming near, foreign teachers and international students at South China Business College were invited to a specially-prepared banquet in the Chinese Dining Hall on December 19 as a celebration for the New Year.
Before the banquet began, Executive Vice-President Lai Zhili delivered a speech to express his gratitude to foreign teachers for their devotion in the past year and wish them even greater achievements in 2019 at South China Business College. He also commended four exchange students for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to keep up the good work.Packages of Jizaibing,a type of chewy biscuit made with lard and originating in Guangzhou, were sent as New year’s gifts to all present during the banquet.
Great food and wine can always give people a feeling of warmth in cold winter days. Seated around the table at the Chinese Dining Hall, foreign teachers and international students of various nations, though speaking different languages and looking different in skin colors, all feel the warmth of home.
Partnership Established between SCBC and Kyushu Foreign Language Academy
On December 19, a delegation led by Director Yamagoshi from Kyushu Foreign Language Academy in Japan paid a visit to South China Business Collge and was welcome by Executive Vice-President Lai Zhili.
The two sides then had intensive discussions on several issues of mutual exchange and cooperation at the meeting. Mr.Lai Zhili confirmed the details of credit recognition and curriculum articulation with his counterpart. Formal partnership was established as an agreement of overseas training base was signed after a consensus was reached by both sides, marking a good beginning to more in-depth cooperation in the future. According to the agreement, there would be an overseas training base for South China Business College at Kyushu Foreign Language Academy. Senior students of Japaneses language from South China Business College would be sent to the training base to study 760 hours of Japanese language and professional training courses; tutorials would be arranged for those who would like to pursue postgraduate studies in Japan.
Faculty & Staff’s New Year Gala: A Show of Talent to Pay Tribute to China’s Reform and Opening up
The evening of December 20 was one of the most exciting of the year at South China Business College, as the faculty & staff’s New Year Gala was held at the Cultural Square with the sound of laughing, singing, cheering, drumming, and applauding going continuously from the stage to the audience. Showing every trick up their sleeves in the performance of singing, dancing, doing recitations or sitcoms,playing instruments,etc., the faculty and staff of South China Business College paid tribute to the glorious achievements of China’s reform and opening in the past forty years with their artistic creativity. It was indeed a grand feast of talent show to celebrate the new year.
