Pro. Wang Hua hired as Pro Vice Chancellor of SCBC
Pro. Wang Hua has been hired as the Pro Vice Chancellor of South China Business College. The announcement was made at a management meeting held on October 17 in the presence of SCBC’s leadership as well as heads of schools, departments, divisions, and sections.
The meeting was presided by Vice President Lai Zhili. Vice President Li Dong, also secretary of the school’s CPC committee, announced the decision of the hire and introduced Prof. Wang to the occasion.
Prof. Wang thanked Chair of the Board Ding Xiaojun for his trust. He was hopeful and also confident of working together with the management team to build up South China Business College.
Mr. Ding Xiaojun said he was glad to have a famous expert in education like Pro. Wang in his team, who has gained great experience in both academic research and school management from many years of working in higher institutions. He believed that with Prof. Wang joining SCBC, his team of leadership will be stronger and make more and further progress in turning the school into a high-level private university.
Introduction to the Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Wang Hua:
Born in May, 1956 in Jiangxi province, Wang received his Ph.D in Management(Accounting) from Xiamen University. Now he is National Second-level Professor in Accounting, Ph.D Supervisor at Jinan University, and a national expert enjoying the State Council special allowance. Wang used to be director in charge of the accounting education affairs for the Accounting Society of China, vice chairman of the Higher Financial & Economic Education of China Higher Education Association, vice president of China Commercial Accounting Institute, adjunct vice chairman of Guangdong Social Sciences Association, member of the fifth and sixth Academic Degrees Committees of Guangdong Province and the corresponding evaluation panels. Currently, he serves as member of the standing council of the Accounting Society of China and deputy director of the Society’s Accounting education committee, member of expert pool for the evaluation panel of undergraduate education under the Ministry of Education, member of CGMA 100, special-term director of the expert committee for Accounting Education, and honorary president of Guangdong Association of Management Accountants.
After graduating from the School of Economics, Xiamen University in 1982, Wang started his career in teaching in Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and later served as the Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Economics.In December 1992, he was transferred to Jinan University and successively served as the Deputy Director and the CPC Branch Secretary of the Department of accounting, the Deputy Secretary and later Secretary of the CPC committee of the School of Management, the President and General Editor of Jinan University Press, the Assistant of President, the Vice President and the Deputy CPC Secretary, and the Secretary of the CPC Commission for Discipline Inspection. In April 2008, he moved to work as the Deputy Secretary of the CPC committee and the President of Guangdong University of Finance. From January 2009 to September 2016, Wang served as the Deputy Secretary of the CPC committee and the President of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics.
Wang’s field of studies includes capital market and international harmonization of accounting standards, human resources accounting and corporate performance appraisal. More than 50 papers written by Wang have been published in authoritative core journals such as Management World, Accounting Research, China Accounting Review, etc. He has also authored three books, one of which is International Harmonization of Accounting Standards, and 11 textbooks. As an expert in accounting, Wang has presided over 24 important projects financed by the National Social Science Fund, the National Soft Science Fund, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Social Science Fund, Guangdong Bureau of Education, and 16 community service projects commissioned by Guangdong provincial departments. These projects proposed solutions to many major issues in such areas as corporate capital operation, human resource management, internal control system design, government management of science and technology, education policy making and so on. He has been rewarded by ministries, national and provincial organizations for some of his projects and publications in recognition of his remarkable achievements.
